6 Bad Don’ts Of A Business You Should Know

by Samuel · 15 comments

Do you really know the don’ts of a business? I mean do you really know what your business doesn’t need in other for it’s to be successful? In case you don’t know, read on and you get to know the bad don’ts of a business.
Knowing the don’ts of a business and avoiding it will help put away things that will serve as bad element to your business. We as a human being do have our don’ts likewise businesses too. You might be wondering, what the don’ts of human beings are, don’ts of human beings are things that can lead to the destruction of a human’s life, so the don’ts of a business are things that can make a not to achieve success in the business world.
So if you really want to take your business to the next level, you must know the don’ts of a business and try to avoid them. These are common things that can hinder you from moving your business to greater heights.  The Bad don’ts of a business you should know are highlighted below:
1.   Never Offer Bad Services:
Put yourself in the shoes of a customer and tell me how you will feel when you are being offered services that don’t worth it, I mean a service that won’t add value to your life? Am sure you will feel bad. That’s why, for every business to succeed it must offer a quality service that will help the customer and make them feel comfortable with it.
Embrace the idea of offering quality services, don’t get it wrong by thinking that customers don’t care about the services that have been rendered to them, I bet you they care. I’d been customers don’t care about the services been rendered to them, there would have been a lot of destruction in this economy just because they care that’s why the manufacturer are trying their possible best to give them the best they ever wanted.  Businesses that lack this idea don’t have a place in the business world because they can’t withstand the business storm and they will get ruined. So that’s why you need to take this seriously and never embrace the idea of not giving customers what they want.
2.    Never Make Your Customers Feel Bad:
There’s a bank slogan in my country that says “Happy Customers Happy Bank” why do you think they said that? It’s is because they believe that if they fail to make their customers feel bad their business will catch cold. No customers will ever patronize them and by so doing they will pack up.
Make your customers feel good, let them see the caring spirit in you, if you can let them feel good whenever you offer them service I bet you’ve win their heart. You will always be their no1 choice before any other person, and if they know of other people who are interested in the type of services you are rendering, they will direct them to you, why? because you worth it and you are the right person for the job. I’d been you’ve not been making them feel good do you think they will ever introduce a new client to you? I guess the right answer is NO! So that’s why you should always appreciate them by making them feel good.  Kill them with kindness :D
3.    Never Lack The Idea Of Showing Appreciation:
Never lack the idea of not appreciating your customers when they patronize you, a big thank you will help go a long way. Whenever a customer visit your store, when he or she is leaving try to show an act of appreciation, let them know you really appreciate their patronage.  Appreciating your customers is as simple as ABC. No skill is needed but sense. So try to appreciate your customers for their kind patronage.

4.   Don’t Be The Call To Fail Guy:
Are you the call to fail guy? If you are, then you are lacking it big time. Try to be the call to action guy, if customers find out that you are the call to fail person they will put a stop to it, Yeah, they will put a stop to it by not patronizing you anymore. Customers do believe that you will be there for them whenever they need your help, that’s why they patronize you but if you fail to prove yourself whenever they need you it will cost you a lot. To cut the story short, try to be the call to action guy and don’t be the call to fail guy.
5.   Don’t Be Greedy:
In business, don’t let the spirit of greediness ruin your journey in the business world, for example you bought a product for $5 and your plan is to sell it to customers for $20, don’t you think that’s weird? The profit is too much, am not saying that you should not add your own gain to the price but don’t let it be much. Remember that you are not the only person selling that particular type of product, your competitors are also selling the same product with you and if customers get to know that your price is too high than that of your competitors they will rather go and patronize your competitors and not you. If at all you are the only person selling that type of product, they will go and look for another product that will meet up to the one you are selling. So what am trying to say is this, try to minimize the rate you add to the price of every product you are going to sell. Beat the price down and let it call for more sales. Customers love varying the price of products from many sources before buying the product from a particular seller; they’d love to buy it from a seller that’s selling it at an affordable price. So let your products be affordable.
6.   Don’t Base Your Business On Credit:
If you truly want your business to succeed, I will advice you not to base your business on credit, I mean never offer your services on credits, credits in the sense that a customer will take goods from your store and he or she will pay for the money of the goods later. Offering your services on credits will never make the business grow, it will draw back the business. There’s nothing like offering your services on credits to customers even to your best friends. Let your best friends pay for the services that are being rendered to them. Because if you do, there will be increase of offers on credit, and by so doing the business will not be yielding positive results, the business will run into debts. Tell me, how do you want to get your gains from your business when all the services you are rendering are on credits? If you really mean a business and wants to succeed in business don’t accept credit.

Hi Samuel
I am just about to start up my business by monetizing my blog so this post is right on topic for me.
Customers are the life blood of any business so one of my priorities will be to deliver excellent customer service.
With every order fulfilled that I send out to my customer, there will be a thankyou and over a certain amount spent there will be a surprise gift as a sign of my appreciation too.
