Customers are the main key behind every successful business, if you know how to deal with them, you will have upper hand in business.

Many businesses find it hard to grow their customer database, as you all know that without customers in a business, the business is a no business.

As a business owner, you must be able to increase your customer database, so as to help you bring in more sales. In this post I will be talking about the 6 mind-blowing ways to increase a customer database.

Below are the 6 Mind-Blowing Ways to increase your customer database:

Work With Mastermind Workers:

For every successful business, there is always a mastermind worker (employee), if you don’t employ good workers to your business, your business will fail because a good worker serves as a pillar to your business.

When you work with masterminds workers, challenge them or task them to find a way of increasing the customer database. If you can challenge them, they will want to face the challenge and help yield the result you want.

Mastermind workers will help you direct your business in a way that will attract customers to your database, they will make sure that nothing goes wrong and they will always be working to make sure the business is successful.

Provide Customers With What They Want:

If you really want to accommodate more customers, you must provide them with what they want. If you can provide them with what they need they will surely come for you.

Proving customers with what they want is just like providing solution to their problem, if you can provide the solution to their problem, you have win their heart. If you can’t provide customers with what they want, don’t expect them to come and patronize you, and don’t expect them to say the right things about you.

I urge you to provide your customers with solution to any problem they might have.  Embrace the idea of offering top-notch products that will make them be proud of you.

The Ones On Your Database Use Them To Bring More:

Yeah, use the customers that are already on your database to bring in more, it’s just like a referral. You can tell them that whenever they bring someone to patronize you will give them bonus. Am sure they will do that. The best way to let your customers help you bring more customers to you is by offering them the best, when you offer them what the best services they ever wanted, they will keep telling people they know about your services and by so doing you are increasing your database gradually.

Uniqueness of Services:

To increase your customer database, try to offer your services in a unique way, a way your competitors are not offering it.

Am sure you came to the business world to play the game differently? So try to offer your services in a unique way that will make customers feel happy with your services and if you are able to provide that you will make it on a long-term run. So think on how you will serve your customers better. It all depends on how you want to play it, so play it differently.

Offer Discount:

If you can offer discounts to customers, your customer database will for sure increase. Discounts make customers come in zillions; discount is every customer’s friend. If you can introduce their best friend to them by offering them discounts they will keep coming for your services, and by the time you know it, your customer database has increased.

So try to offer discounts, and when you are offering discount make sure you plan the offer in a way that you will benefit from it and your customers will also benefit from it, don’t just go and offer discount without planning a way that will make it favor you, a way that will make you get your gain even when you are offering your services in discount.

Encourage Quality Customer Support:

If you have a bad customer support, customers would not love to patronize you. A good and effective customer support will bring more customers because having a good and effective customer support will make customers patronize you, they will believe that whenever they have any problem, with your good and effective customer support they can come over and their problem will get solved. Compare to a business that don’t have good customer support, am sure the business with a bad customer support will never grow and customers will keep migrating. So ensure that you have a good customer support.

Hi Samuel

I have just had re-orders this week with my recently released products….yay. That tells me the customers are satified with the products and the customer service :-)

Also, they are telling their friends about the products; which in turn should result in more customers. I know it will take time to build a sizeable customer base, but I know I have begun.

Tomorrow I will send parcels to New Zealand and to the US so my Etsy store has started to bring in global customers and I hope to learn more about this side of marketing too.

One of the things I have done is with the on-line customers, I put in a card and I write a small note saying thanks for their custom. I also pop in my business card so hopefully that will remind them when they are looking for more gifts or just to re-order the products, they will have my blog address.

Will also want to add this to the list;

-Encourage word of mouth referrals by rewarding your existing customers who introduce others to your business. Can cause your business to go viral.

Sam, great post once again.

Hey Sam,

Great article dude!

Everybody needs customers to run a proper business. Like you said without them there is no business. I think the most important key here is to give people something they need. Then they will keep coming back to you.

Thanks again.

God bless,

Sam!

Great article bud. Thanks for sharing!

I have to say that I agree with everything in your list to increase your customer database except for one thing – Customers Discounts.

Here’s why.

It is my opinion that, your goal as a business owner and entrepreneur should not be to sell your product or service to anyone that will buy it. Your goal should be to sell your product or service to the “Early Adopters” – the 13.5% of people that fall on the left side of the bell curve in the Law of Diffusion of Innovation.

WHY?

Because it is that 13.5% people who usually are willing to buy your products or services because they believe what you believe. They believe in you, they believe in your products and they want to be the first to have them. These people are loyal customers and are willing to spread the word about your products to everyone and anyone without any incentives. These are the people that stand outside of Apple stores for hours before a the iphone or ipad was released for sale. They are even willing to experience some discomfort because they believe in your product.

Discounts to customers are a form of buyers manipulation. Now, don’t get me wrong! Many of todays companies use Manipulations (buy one get one free, buy and get a $100 rebate, buy one get 20% off) and they are very effective; for a one time sale! However, they don’t breed customer loyalty! As soon as some one offers a better price or discount, that customer will stop buying from you and go on to the next best offer. You then have to lower your price to compete, and so on!

Manipulations work, but are very expensive!

Instead, I think you should concentrate on only marketing and selling to that 13.5% of people (early adopters) who are will buy your products and tell everyone else about them.

This is the best way for your product to enter the mass-market.

Awesome comment bro. Yeah, i agree with what you said but at times offering services at discount does help if at all it does bring around cheap customers at least you will retain some customers who can help you spread your business. when they see that you are giving them the best. i hope you get what am saying? Thanks so much bro. :D

Absolutely get where you are coming from, Sam. It all depends on what your goals are for your specific product.

Thanks for being honest in your reply and sharing your views on this.

Hi Man,
Another Nice article. I think giving the market what want is more important than anything else – without it, there is no exceptional service to offer.

Hahaha, i love it how you can just say “provide customers with what they want.”

So many people fail at creating something that people actually want. Focusing on over featuring something or just making is completely useless.

If you can develop something that is realistic in the eyes of customers as something that they want, you have no need to worry about winning them over.

Good point Sam! Having your customers give you names for prospective clients is a great way of expanding your clientele. I used to seek referrals and people who had a large circle of influence when I was in the insurance market and I had endless lists in my database. If your referrals trust you then it’s likely that their people will trust you too.
