Growing Your Business: Are You Reachable?

by Samuel · 27 comments

Now, you’ve been in the business world, I’m sure you will be looking for a way to grow your business so that it will be successful. The question you should ask yourself is, are you reachable? Your answer will determine if your business will be successful or not. Have you ever think about the idea of being reachable to customers so that they can patronize you?

The fact is, growing a successful business, you must consider reachability. I mean, how you will be able to reach out to your customers, so that they would be able to patronize you and notify people that you are in the business world.

Ignoring the idea of reaching out to your customers can cause a big disaster to your business. Every successful business embrace the reachability factor as the main factor that can help speed up the growth of their business.  Take a look at it, how do you expect customers to know that you are in the business world when you don’t reach out to them?

You might be wondering how you can reach out to your customers, below I will talk about how you can reach out to your customers so as to help grow your business:

Attend Tradeshows:

The number one factor you should consider when reaching out to customers is to attend trade shows. Attending tradeshows will expose your business to the world.  When attending trade shows, your main aim is to reach out to customers, let them have the taste of your services. Make sure you try all your possible best to win their heart.

As far as you are providing quality services you don’t need to be anonymous. You just have to be real; the logic you should put in place is the idea of offering your goods at an affordable price so that you will be able to get the attention of many customers .And by so doing you are reaching out to your customers.

When they found out that your products are good, they would love to introduce people to you. That’s how your business will be growing and it will be expanding.

Availability of Products In Different Cities:

Some major customers might be hearing about your services but they are not able to get to you in other to patronize you. And when they found out that you are not reachable they will give up and they will go elsewhere.

You know your business is growing?  Then, why are you not distributing your products to cities where it will be needed? Distributing your products to different cities will make it easier for customers to patronize you. You don’t expect all your customers to be from the same location. No! All your customers can’t be from the same location.

You should try all your best to make sure your products are available in different cities. Better still you can bring up a website, where customers can order for products they need.

It will be easier for them to purchase it online and all you need to do is to make sure their goods are delivered to them on time so as not to cause any dispute.

If you are missing this idea in your business, I urge you to implement it in other to make your business grow at a fast rate.

Make Your Contact Available:

You should always make sure that your contact is available to customers because they might want to give you a call concerning a product that has problem or they want to order for more products. So by making your contact available, it will be easier for them to give you a call.

Don’t try to put an anonymous phone or fax number as your contact details because if you do, I doubt if you will get customers to patronize you. The contact details you should give to your customers must be a real and genuine contact details so that customers can give you a call at anytime they feel like.

I’ve noticed most of these companies, the contact details they do give as their contact details are not going through whenever you give them a call, at times, if their phone number should go through by mistake, it will be hard for a sales representative to attend to you. Which is not supposed to be?  Make sure your contact details are real, genuine and not fake phone numbers.

Good Customer Support:

One of the main factors that can help your business grow and retain customers is good customer support. If your company doesn’t have this, then I think you need to find a solution to your company. Tell me, would you love to patronize a company with no good customer support? I bet you would not love to do that.

If you really want to know how effective a customer support should be, I guess you need to check out my hosting customer support! They really proved to me that they are capable and I can vouch for them at anytime. You might be wondering what hosting I’m using; I’m using Secure Signup hosting company.

You can see the way I’m preaching the name of my hosting company and am sure you would love your company to be vouched for the same way I did for my hosting company.

That’s why you need to have a good customer support so that you will be able to reach out to your customers, interact with them and they would be able to share their experiences with you. Also, they will let you know how you can pin-up your business loopholes. A good customer support matters a lot in business. So I urge you to implement it.

Hey Sam,

Thanks for another fantastic article! I’m glad I took the time to stop by hoping you had published something new. ( :

I would say I agree with you totally. I have never heard of trade shows so that is something new to me. I was hoping you could give me a little more info onvthese trade shows. Do you know how to sign up for one or where they usually have them? Have you been to one ever before? I have been wanting to start going to blogger conventions when I get more money. I think it would be awesome and very beneficial for me. I can learn a lot of the bloggers and it would a perfect opportunity for me to network and meet like minded bloggers. I plan on attending every blogging convention possible!

You are absolutely right if you are selling a product in stores it is always best to have your product in as many places as possible. It will increase the availability of the products increasing your revenue & your brand. The object of any brand should be to spread it to as far all over the world as possible. If you are selling a product it should be in your plan to spread it, a good way as you mentioned could be making a website to sell it off of. The Internet is becoming more and more popular everyday at a alarming rate, so this would be a very smart decision. It is very easy and convient for a person if they can simply order your product without having to go through the headache of going and finding it at the store. Many people are lazy today so you should want to convience them in anyway possible.

With any product you sellvit is always very important to have a good customer service.vif someone isn’t happy with your product and they can’t get in touch with youcthey will be very pissed. I know I would and have been in the past. I feel like I have been scammed even if I haven’t been. Then they will give you a bad reputation and tell everyone your not trust worthy. Today trust means everything. Just like you trust the hosting service you are with, other people want to be able to trust you.

I’m very glad you wrote this article I love when I learned something new, because the only way for me to grow is to listen first and talk second.

Thanks again! Time to retweet ( :

God bless,

Sam – great article!

You made some good points and suggestions. That is why I love the beauty of the Internet Business model!

If you do things right, you can accomplish all of your points via the web. You can market your product and reach people all over the world, have a presence in the market and make your organization available to customers. You can outsource a customer support center to reputable companies that specialize in customer support and really leverage your time and concentrate on income producing activities.

Thanks for sharing!

Nice practical approaches there Sam. It’s one thing for a business to exist and yet another for it to be reachable. In other words, your existence must be known to your target audience. The underlying principle behind making your existence known to your target market is marketing. It is the core function that delivers your business’ existence to those who need the product or service you offer.

A key tip I will also like to include, although which most of us who are reading this blog is already doing is; own a blog or website with a blog. It helps to keep fresh traffic coming.

Awesome article Sam

If i was going into merchandise and sales; the first thing that i would do in a startup is find a city that has the highest need for my products.

Not everywhere is perfect which is why location is key (unless you setup shop online) and most people won’t go out of their way and travel 1000km just to get a hold of your product.

Awesome points, thanks for sharing the tips.

Hi Peter,
You are right. Not all locations will love your products, you just have to focus on the ones that cherish your products. It’s a good to setup a website for your company so that people can purchase the goods they want online. Thanks a lot for the comment.

I agree with your points Samuel!

Prospects nowadays are very alert with who they are dealing and there is no simple way to make deals other than contacting each other and we should see this as something important.

And yes, we must consider different trends in different places too because business is not about selling thing in just one single community!

Conferences and even meetups in your business’ niche will help. While these are more narrow and focused, maybe even smaller, it will help you establish authority in your niche, even for a business that is conducted solely online or even offline.

I especially like your point about making yourself easy to contact. I HATE having to hunt around on people’s websites trying to find out how to contact them!

Hi Samuel

For me the customer service side of business is most important. It is what will differentiate my business from similar ones.

I like to go that extra mile with my customers. With my on-line customers that are my regular readers; they get a surprise gift in with their order. Also I wrap the gift in lavender paper with a thankyou card hand-written with the order.

Need to show appreciation for my customers, cos without them I would not have a business!

Also have a contact page on my blog which is easy to find. That way any queries can be dealt with straight away. I have been to one small trade fair by invite only and that is where I sourced the products I now sell in my Etsy store as well as offline.

Hey Sam,

You’ve made some very good points there. I think having good customer support and being easily contacted are key things in a business. You might have crappy products but being there for your customers can make a world of difference although facing irate customers is not the best thing to do but allowing a means to communicate is key to building your reputation and maintaining it.

I never thought about the importance of being reachable but it’s a great point. It would ease a lot of worries for customers.
